Texas Hill Country DeMolay Honors Air
Force Trainees with Thanksgiving Dinner
Boerne, November 26,
2009:
Texas Hill Country Chapter, DeMolay International, on a very special
Thanksgiving Day, hosted four basic trainees from Lackland Air Force
Base in San Antonio, Texas for Thanksgiving Dinner at the Kendall
Masonic Lodge. Local youth designed, planned, and executed the event
to honor those who serve our country – with plans on it being an
annual event.
With the assistance of
Kendall Masonic Lodge, Boerne 200 – Order of Eastern Star, the
Boerne Shrine Club, and parents of the members of Texas Hill Country
Chapter, the members of the chapter put on an excellent event that
included six turkeys, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dressing,
and a whole slew of pies and desserts. The trainees also had video
games on the projector and computers to check e-mail and Facebook.
Outside in the beautiful weather, the trainees learned how to master
the “Washer Pit” and, later, the trainees were each given a cell
phone to call their families back at home. |
